Client Overview

Our client is a Private Safari Camp, elevated on the border of the Masai Mara. The camp is in a secluded valley with its own private conservancy and teaming with game. Every effort is made to preserve this incredible wildlife sanctuary. Our client is dedicated to being part of its protection and to this end the camp functions in the most Eco-friendly way possible.

Key Responsibilities:

  •  Develop a client and B2B marketing, sales and reservations strategy (with clear targets) for increasing channels of supply, widening geographic sources of supply, improving direct bookings, improving B2B and client relations. enhancing client and TO retentions and improving performance related commission structures and systems
  • Develop SOPs (e-handbook/how to) for how to reply to requests, how to convert requests, how to deal with potential difficulties – a cheat sheet on how and what to ask for and answer
  • Training of the sales/reservations staff on properties, sales and conversion tactics
  • Engage with properties to seek preferable prices and agreements. Look at properties which have a sustainability ethos and practise responsible tourism to add this to the portfolio
  • Keep up to date with all travel trends and use these for development
  • Implement a pre-intra and post sales process
  • Develop a client and B2B marketing, sales and reservations strategy for increasing channels of supply, widening geographic sources of supply, improving direct bookings, improving B2B and client relations. enhancing client and TO retentions and improving performance related commission structures and systems
  • Improve the quality of the offering and the client experience to enhance demand – by developing the offering/client experience further, including the standards and systems of the offering
  • Implement communications strategy
  • Developing offerings including curated guided safaris and 3rd party complimentary safari products
  • Improve client retention and repeat business.
  • Improve up-selling, side selling and date swapping to capture more $ per bednight and address displacement losses
  • Adjust/structure commissions structures to 3rd parties based on performance targets
  • Review and update minimum operating standards. Convert system into a training tool that is visual, understandable and accessible to staff
  • Implement monthly company management report Which now fold in targets, circulate report to team and hold monthly meetings in this regard
  • Provide consistent quarterly reports to the Directors and shareholders
  • Implement the GRANIT system fully and effectively
  • Help the Marketing manager to keep the CRM database populated and keep on top of the CRM system to make it more effective
  • Review all 3rd party agreements for ways to enhance performance, efficiency or reduce costs

Bookings: 

  • Research (and in consultation with the Directors), pick properties to work with, visit properties where needed
  • Work with Booking Team to create itineraries for
  • Work with Booking Team on bookings and contact guests / agent when needed
  • Manage GRANIT, keeping data updated
  • Generate monthly reports
  • Data management: trends etc.

Marketing:

  • Determine what information needs to be promoted (itineraries, properties, experiences etc.)
  • Help with marketing (Facebook, Instagram etc.)
  • Manage platforms and websites that the service features on
  • Make sure the website is up to date
  • Updating and checking all brochures and write-ups
  • Monthly Newsletters
  • Manage PR

Business development:

  • Work on building new business for the company
    • Identify key markets
    • Identify key destinations/properties
  • Outbound sales –
    • Develop a sales strategy
    • Implement sales strategy

 

Qualifications:

  • A Degree/Diploma from a recognized institution
  • At least Five years of experience in the same capacity

Monthly Gross Salary: Kshs. 250,000 – 300,000 (Depending on Skills & Experience)
