Looking for a System Administrator


Client Overview

Our client is a Destination Management Company (DMC) with local knowledge, expertise and resources, working in the design and implementation of tour itineraries in East Africa. The company provides both a creative and professional level of expertise when preparing programmes tailored specifically to the client’s unique brief and budget.  They are currently looking for a systems Administrator to join their team.

General Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate the visions, ethos and values of the organisation in everyday work and practice.
  • Assist the Business Intelligence and Analytics Manager as required.
  • Take an active role in the maintenance of the database and support those who use it appropriately.
  • Responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure, with particular reference to the company’s database.
  • Ensure that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organisational policies.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Perform daily system monitoring to ensure that the data entered into the company’s database is as accurate and up to date as possible.
  • Train sales consultants on the use of the company’s database so that they may build itineraries, vouchers and invoices as necessary.
  • Provide support to all members of the company so that their understanding of the integrity and use of the database is clear.
  • Plan and develop clear systems for data maintenance and entry.
  • Develop and maintain configuration procedures.
  • Contribute to and maintain system standards.
  • Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions.
  • Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs.
  • Direct and supervise subordinates to ensure that they fulfil their duties in the ICT function.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or Computer Engineering.
  • Four plus years of relevant experience with at least four years in a managerial position.
  • Understanding of local and international data safety standards.
