Client Overview

Our client is establishing a second hotel in Nairobi, after having opened the first in 2013 outside Nairobi as a mid-range business hotel for intra-Kenyan travelers they are now bringing the brand into the heart of Nairobi. The brand is a melting pot of cultures, environments, tastes, nationalities and adventures.  It has a social, informal, playful core, but does not seek to impose these in a linear manner throughout the hotel.  It’s a hotel that surprises, enchants, intrigues and energises in equal measure. The brand is defined on four key Organisational characteristics that will need to be evident in all who join the company; one MUST be Incisive, Down- to- earth, Sparkling and Adaptable. The hotel aims to attract an entirely different kind of customer base and compete against both global and regional competitors already established at the top end of the Nairobi hotel market. They are currently looking for a Marketing Manager who will be responsible for the development of the overall strategy, integrating a set of campaign-specific goals, budgets, channels, messages and measurement tools.

Key Responsibilities: –

  • Creation and ongoing management of the hotel’s website
  • Management of the implementation of the brand’s Visual Identity System, including logomark usage across all marketing and non-marketing applications (with the support of appropriate design agencies as required)
  • Management of the implementation of the brand’s Messaging & Language Style Guide to ensure consistent language usage across all internal and external media
  • Development and management of the brand’s Media and PR strategies and execution (e.g. Media tours of the property, press releases, press conferences, feature articles etc.), including the management of third-party PR partners (if required)
  • Development and management of all advertising requirements, including the management of third-party advertising partners (as required)
  • Development and management of all Social Media channels (e.g. involvement in suitable local social media sites, the feedback to Trip Advisor comments (in association with the GM), the creation and management of the brand’s Facebook page etc.)
  • Development of internal communications materials (in association with the HR Manager)
  • Creation of all hotel collateral (brochures, leaflets etc.)
  • Creation of presentation materials for other senior team members

Qualification: –

  • Ideally 10 years’ experience in a creative marketing environment & preferably some hotel marketing experience
  • Evidence of creative approaches to marketing challenges
  • Evidence of effective management and team-building
  • Evidence of successful outcomes versus goals

Monthly gross salary: Competitive package depending on experience
